Hot knife through butter moments…

There are many moments in life when we know we are on track. We know because of the way it makes us, and others around us feel.

One of the ways I know is when I am operating in line with my profile. When all the many facets of myself are in sync and it’s as easy as moving a ‘hot knife through butter’. In those moments, when we are in the zone, we are living with ease and grace.

“So how do we identify them and create more of them?”

When I learnt what my Clifton Strengths were (all 34 of them) life just made that little bit more sense to me. Particularly my top 5, which are:

  1. ADAPTABILITY - I'm highly adaptable and more than OK with change.

  2. IDEATION - I come up with heaps of ideas - they just keep coming, much like popcorn popping!

  3. POSITIVITY - I'm very positive, I see the potential in people, businesses and situations.

  4. CONNECTEDNESS - I can see unique connections between disparate things, people and opportunities.

  5. RELATOR - Ideally I like to get to know people on a very deep level. I believe relationships are the most important part of business (and in life!).

“These are the things that I just ‘do’. They are me in my flow, doing my thang. In fact it’s how I Coach at Insightful Intelligence.”

Recently I was lucky enough to be gifted this incredible book which talks about how knowing your Strengths can help you find freedom and purpose at work and get unstuck in your Career. It’s written by the very talented, Charlotte Blair who has been a Gallup-accredited Strengths Coach for many years.

If you are feeling disenchanted in your career, I highly recommend grabbing a copy. As Maika Leibbrandt, Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and Executive Coach of Maika Leibbrandt Consulting says in the foreword, “You’ll find this book to be a buoy on your journey, blending together perfect dosages of research, anecdotes and reflection.”

If you want to know more about yourself and when you are in your zone - check out the Clifton Strengths Finder assessment. I’m also keen to know, if you have already done your Clifton Strengths Profile, what insights did you take away from it? How did it influence your journey?

“After all, it’s not what just want we know about ourselves that counts, it what we do with it that makes the biggest difference.”

Until next time, cheers Tee-Jay x
