Walking the Talk

As a leader I believe in ‘walking the talk’. To me that means not asking my team to do things that I wouldn’t do myself.

Of course, in my role as a Coach I support and empower people who have very different skills to me and I’m not physically or mentally able to deliver the same results as them and I’m OK with that. My point is that to do the work I do successfully, I find it necessary to be ‘on the court’ willing ‘to play the game’. I’m not OK with simply sitting in the stands and providing insights without having experience of what it means to be in the game and truly living life to the maximum of my potential.

This year I stepped up in my Consulting role and applied to be a ‘Wellbeing Ambassador’ for the business so that along with my fellow colleagues from around the globe I could raise money for charity and also awareness for health and wellbeing. As a result it’s been a truly incredible year with a trip to my favourite country, Spain. I studied Spanish as part of my degree many years ago and quite literally fell in love with it, in fact ‘Cuando esta alli, mi corazon esta llena’.

From May to October I trained for an Olympic Triathlon and on 22.10.22 I became a Triathlete, which is something I NEVER EVER thought I’d do or be able to claim.

My insight, life is full of choices and in my experience it’s those choices that we make that take us out of our comfort zones and make us grow (even when we don’t know if we can) that are the most rewarding.

If you are keen to stretch yourself and forge new space in your life - reach out, I can help you get there.
