Self Awareness
Self awareness is SO important. It empowers us as individuals and has us not only own, but also celebrate our differences.
Often you have the answers, they come from your intuition, the kicker is, you need to be listening. To hear your intuition you need to invest the time to be still and listen to it. Granted life can be noisy so it takes conscious effort to consult with your soul to work this out!
There are so many ways to become self aware and all of them require:
Curiosity - A genuine interest in seeking new ways to see yourself.
Willingness to learn - Being willing to carve out the time to invest in yourself.
Having enough humility to be willing to accept your whole-self - We aren't always aware of our true impact on the world, or other people. If you are willing to accept the insights you receive you'll gain more from them. If you resist them you'll remain stuck being a version of yourself that you think you SHOULD be (and if you have studied NLP you'll know that's a sure fire way to stay stuck and unhappy).
Some tools to help you dig deep! - There are many ways to do this work on yourself, for yourself. There are now more profiling tools on the market than you can shake a stick at! In order to find you, you need to use tools that give you the intel that you are seeking. One immediate site that comes to mind that provides some immediate free insight into your personality is https://www.16personalities.com/. It's based on the classic Myers Briggs Type Indicator - here are some details from https://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-personality-type/mbti-basics/:
The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people's lives. The essence of the theory is that much seemingly random variation in the behaviour is actually quite orderly and consistent, being due to basic differences in the ways individuals prefer to use their perception and judgment.
Perception involves all the ways of becoming aware of things, people, happenings, or ideas. Judgment involves all the ways of coming to conclusions about what has been perceived. If people differ systematically in what they perceive and in how they reach conclusions, then it is only reasonable for them to differ correspondingly in their interests, reactions, values, motivations, and skills.
There are MANY different types of assessments to help you understand about your inner self from many different perspectives, an approach I wholeheartedly believe in and actively use in all of our Programs at Insightful Intelligence.
